Summary of the Book
Carly Beth feels a strange, indescribable pull towards a mask in her basement. Finally giving into temptation, despite every effort to resist, the same compelling force makes her put on the mask, and that is when everything begins to go horribly wrong.
The next day, while helping at an after-school program set in an old farmhouse, Carly Beth and her friend Sabrina hear a sound emanating from the farmhouse. Upon attempting to investigate, they are warned off by another worker, who then tells them the gory history of the farmhouse, which coincidentally explains the reason behind the haunted mask. He recounts a horrible tragedy which led to the death of a young stable boy, who was wearing the same mask when he died.
Upon discovering that the mask is haunted, and is possibly ruining her life, Carly Beth bravely attempts to fight it, and ultimately tries to put an end to the horror. But can she?
